Please use the form above to request an appointment or ask a question.  Your contact information is private, and will only be used to contact you to set up an appointment or send information. It is not shared or sold.

Cost

Sessions are $100/hour.  Payment is by check in advance, or by PayPal after the session.  A PayPal payment request will be sent once your session is booked.

Schedule

Appointments are booked in one-hour blocks.  Appointments are generally available between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM Central Time, Monday through Friday.  Weekend appointments may be available.

Other information

Session appointments are by telephone.  However, if you are located in the greater Houston (Texas, USA) area, in person appointments can be made at your barn, farm or office.  I will be happy to meet you at a riding session or lesson for a Relaxation Tapping session, where we can work on your specific issue on location and in real time. 

What's a session like?

Before the session, you'll receive a session preparation sheet with four questions.  You'll also receive an illustration of the points we'll be tapping, and how to frame a simple tapping statement.  Right before the session, please drink 8 oz. of water to make sure you're hydrated for the session.  It's also a good idea to have some water on hand during the session.

In the session, we'll discuss what your riding issue or problem is.  We'll explore the physical components of your issue, as well as the thoughts, beliefs and feelings you have about it.   We'll establish what a desirable outcome is for you. 

For example, you might tell me, "I had a bad riding accident, and now I'm terrified to canter.  My horse is acting up and I'm afraid I will get thrown again."  If I ask you where you feel the fear when you think about the accident, you might say, "I feel my stomach flip-flopping and my palms sweating."  You might also discuss mental issues:  "I can't stop thinking about the accident" or emotional ones: "I feel sad that I can't enjoy my horse."

This information will help us craft your tapping statements.  I'll help your formulate the statement and lead you through the tapping sequence.  We'll continue this process throughout the session to help reduce the physical, mental and emotional reactions that are holding you back from riding your best, and enjoying it.

At the end of the session, I'll give you suggestions on how to apply your tapping routine, including possibly specific statements to use on your own.  Within a week, I'll follow up with you by email (included in the session fee) to find out how you're doing, answer any questions, and help you assess your progress.

Some "side effects" you might notice from Relaxation Tapping:

Improved mood and sleep occurs for some people.  This can be because you've freed up emotional and mental energy that were being used to focus on the stressful situation.

Enhanced problem solving can occur.  Tension reduces our ability to consider and use a wide range of solutions to the problems we encounter.  Mental and emotional relaxation free up "brain power" in the frontal lobes so we make better use of our coping strategies.

Overall tension can decrease.  The benefits of Relaxation Tapping usually generalize into other, seemingly unrelated tensions.  And of course, once you know the technique, it can be applied to any life situation.  Sometimes the effect can be very subtle; we simply realize that things that were bothering us don't bother us any more. 

A general sense of "lightness" and well-being can be felt.  People often comment on a sense of lightness, a feeling as if a load has been lifted.  Some mention feeling less tense in shoulders and/or neck.
